How-To

Students can create their own marble run using toilet paper rolls and other cardboard tubing along with items found around the house. Engage in the engineering design process and discover ways to make your marble go fast or slow. In the classroom students can design and test their runs in groups.

Implement for distance learning: Consider your age group and develop criteria and constraints to focus the investigation on particular standards. Consider your student’s resources and create criteria that levels the activity for all of the students. Encourage creativity. Students can share their designs using Flipgrid. This is a free resource that is contained so the students are protected from the general public having access.
