Professional Development for Educators of Grades Pre-K–8
Educator Boot Camps
We offer three, six, and eight-day intensive STEM Educator Boot Camps at Arizona Science Center’s CREATE space designed for K-12 schools and districts interested in implementing STEM programming. Educators are introduced to the maker mindset, participate in design challenges, and are given hands-on training with the technology in our CREATE hubs (electronics, woodshop, and artistry). In each boot camp, educators work on a collaborative project that they can take to their own sites, and they become a pass holder at CREATE to design future projects.
Mentoring and Coaching
Through our mentoring and coaching support, we help teachers through the pre-planning, reflecting, and problem-solving aspects of STEM education through observations and targeted feedback, co-planning lessons, and modeling lessons for teachers. This service can also be geared for administrators, instructional coaches, and professional development facilitators.
Consulting Services
We offer workshops and consultation services to support a school leadership team in developing their STEM/STEAM implementation plan to transition into a STEM/STEAM school. Topics include the STEM culture shift, project-based learning, STEM in a 1:1 environment, and integrating STEM/STEAM into all subjects. We guide schools and districts through the development of comprehensive STEM/STEAM programs from the ground up that are student-led and STEM-focused.
