Arizona Science Center’s Signature Galaxy Gala is Back In Person
Opportunity to Lend Support to Science Center and STEM Education
PHOENIX, AZ – November 7, 2022 – Arizona Science Center’s signature fundraising event, Galaxy Gala, is likely to be a “pawsitively” memorable evening in support of STEM education across Arizona. Happening February 4, 2023, this year's event is meant to inspire scientists and dog lovers alike as the theme is timed with the grand opening of the exhibition, Dogs! A Science Tail. Chairing the event this year, Lisa Shover Kackley and her dog, Dassher, along with Vice-Chairs Daryl G. Weil and Gizmo, along with more than 20 humans and their beloved dogs are working to bring the event to life.
The Galaxy Gala fundraiser will celebrate the many accomplishments of the Science Center’s programs throughout the year and also encourage donors to show their support and help cultivate students’ knowledge and appreciation of science and potentially spur interest in science careers. This year’s Gala STEM Discovery Initiative allows guests to support a variety of the Center’s STEM programs for youth.
“Galaxy Gala is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Arizona Science Center with its generous supporters and trustees,” said Arizona Science Center’s Board of Trustees Chair, Anita Theisen. “But more importantly, it invites us to acknowledge where our community needs to come together to expand opportunities so STEM learners everywhere are included in our priorities.”
The event will also celebrate immediate past board chair Mary K. Martuscelli, and recognize Galaxy Gala chairs Rebecca Ailes-Fine, Ardie Evans, Sue Glawe, and Lynn Madonna, all of whom contributed to the success of the Science Center during COVID-19.
The evening's festivities include:
6:00 PM - Arizona Exhibition Premiere - “Yappy” Hour and Treats
7:30 PM - Dinner and Program
9:30 PM - The Dog House After Party
