Galaxy Gala
Arizona Science Center
Galaxy Gala is Arizona Science Center’s premier annual fundraiser, advancing science education, innovation, and accessible STEM programming across Arizona.
As the Center’s largest philanthropic event of the year, Galaxy Gala unites community leaders, advocates, and supporters who share a belief in the transformative power of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Together, we celebrate the impact of STEM learning while raising critical funds to ensure high-quality, hands-on science experiences remain accessible to learners of all ages and backgrounds.
We Make Science Fun. You Make it Happen
When your support Arizona Science Center, you help bring science to life for learners of all ages through programs like in-classroom demonstrations with Science on Wheels; workshops and mentorship through Girls in STEM; free admission for students through Focused Field Trips; teacher training through the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation Center for Leadership in Learning; the Arizona Science & Engineering Fair; and hands-on experiences at CAMP INNOVATION.
Making An Impact
Arizona Science Center inspires, educates, and engages our community through science. This happens inside and outside the Center’s walls. The Science Center touches Arizonans in every county in the state with programming for schoolchildren, educators and families.
Through donor-supported offerings, we serve 800,000 children and adults every year—including 140,000 schoolchildren and educators from more than 100 cities in Arizona—generating an impact that stretches from the local level to all corners of the state. What we do today shapes tomorrow’s leaders in science and innovation. Below are various opportunities you can get involved to help us support our community.
Focused Field Trip
APS makes K–8 Title I field trips free when teachers complete Arizona Science Center’s Focused Field Trip Orientation, an online guide to using exhibits for learning and planning successful visits. Educators must finish the orientation and earn the certificate.
Girls in STEM
Girls in STEM is a year-round program for girls in grades 4–8, offering hands-on STEM activities, collaboration, and mentorship. Since 2013, it has encouraged interest in science, technology, engineering, and math while connecting students with STEM professionals.
Science on Wheels
Science on Wheels brings hands-on STEM learning to your site through assemblies, family events, and classroom workshops. Programs are engaging, grade-specific, and aligned with Arizona College and Career Readiness Standards and Next Generation Science Standards.
CAMP INNOVATION
Let your imagination run wild in our series of week-long camp sessions that spark curiosity in science through hands-on interactive programs that incorporate learning through high-energy challenges, building and design. CAMP INNOVATION is sure to inspire, educate and engage your curious mind through hands-on science.
Leadership in Learning
The Freeport–McMoRan Foundation Center for Leadership in Learning offers standards-aligned, research-based professional development for PreK–8 educators. Led by certified facilitators, programs build creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking, strengthening educator confidence and competence.
Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF)
The Arizona Science and Engineering Fair (AzSEF) is the statewide science fair, bringing top student winners together to compete for scholarships and prizes. Senior Division Grand Award winners advance to the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair.
