Week 1: Can You Build It?
December 23, 26, 27
- Day 1: All campers will build their own twirligigs, design a waterslide, compete in a balance challenge, construct a catapult made out of popsicle sticks and more!
- Day 2: Campers in grades 1-4 will construct marble rhythmic staircases and balloon cars, as well as compete in marble run, bridge and structural challenges. Campers in grades 5-6 will design mini golf courses, hand crank elevators and compete in a balloon car race.
- Day 3: Campers in grades 1-4 will design their own cardboard monster grabber, build their own take-home light display and more. Campers in grades 5-6 will utilize hydraulics to create an elevator, build their own foosball game using make-do materials and more.

All campers will build their own twirligigs, design a waterslide, compete in a balance challenge, construct a catapult made out of popsicle sticks and more!
Activity Sequence
- Twirligig - Campers will design a twirling toy with colorful paper and skewers.
- Wacky Waterslides - Campers will design and build their own water slide only using the materials provided.
- Balance Challenge - Campers will use the wooden balance structure to try and balance different objects without knocking the balance over.
- Popsicle Stick catapult
Campers in grades 1-4 will construct marble rhythmic staircases and balloon cars, as well as compete in marble run, bridge and structural challenges. Campers in grades 5-6 will design mini golf courses, hand crank elevators and compete in a balloon car race.
Activity Sequence: Grades 1-4
- Sturdy Structures (Small base to large top) https://frugalfun4boys.com/five-engineering-challenges-with-keva-planks/
- Marble Rhythm Staircase - In groups campers will create a staircase that will make a rhythmic sound as their marble rolls down it.
- Fastest Marble Run Challenge - Whose marble run will be the fastest? Using the Engineering Design Process, campers will test their ideas to make their marble win the race!
- Widest Bridge Challenge - What shapes and structure will be the best for creating the widest bridge to gap the space between two areas?
- Balloon Car - Can you build a car that accelerates using just a balloon?
Activity Sequence: Grades 5-6
- Hand Crank Elevator - Campers will create an elevator that rises using a hand crank.
- Mini Golf Course - Campers will use various materials to create their own mini golf putting green.
- Balloon Car - Can you build a car that accelerates using just a balloon?
Campers in grades 1-4 will design their own cardboard monster grabber, build their own take-home light display and more. Campers in grades 5-6 will utilize hydraulics to create an elevator, build their own foosball game using make-do materials and more.
Activity Sequence: Grades 1-4
- Monster Jaws (Grabber) - Using cardboard and brass fasteners, create yours very own monster grabber
