Arizona Science Center's Universe on Wheels offers museum-quality planetarium shows that bring the night sky to you any time of day. Universe on Wheels is a portable, inflatable planetarium with a wheelchair entrance, which fits into most school gyms or cafeterias.  

Due to COVID-19, Universe on Wheels Dome presentations are temporarily suspended.

Universe on Wheels is able to travel all over Arizona! Please contact us with any questions about this new and exciting Science on Wheels mobile planetarium program available to schools, senior centers, birthday parties and so much more!


  • First 2 hours of programs with approximately 65 students per program: $850
  • Additional programs on the same day: $100
  • Additional fees will be applied for locations more than 50 miles from Arizona Science Center or locations requiring an overnight stay.


  • Please specify shows when booking Universe on Wheels
  • Audience Size: 65 children (4th grade and below) or 45 children or adults (5th grade and up)
  • Show Time: 20–40 minutes in length depending on the show
  • Set-Up Time: 45 minutes
  • Teardown Time: 45 minutes
  • Required Utilities: Dome must be used indoors, on a clean floor that is at least 22 feet long by 22 feet wide with a 19-foot ceiling.
  • Must have an accessible electrical outlet nearby. Schools failing to measure properly will not be refunded for canceled programs due to insufficient space.
  • Three presenters will travel to your location to set up and operate the Dome.
  • 1–2 additional adults to assist with the setup is helpful.
  • Requires 20 minutes in between shows.

Ice Worlds explores the Earth's polar ice caps and draws parallels with ice on planets and moons elsewhere in the solar system. Planetary Visions worked with the latest satellite image and terrain data from Antarctica to produce four stunning, immersive animation sequences.

From breathtaking landscapes to violent volcanic eruptions to Saturn's icy rings, New Horizons transports you on a majestic journey through the planets and moons of our celestial neighborhood. Your journey begins as you follow a comet through interplanetary space. On each exotic port, real data and images from modern space probes are transformed into stunning, wrap-around visualizations.

Explore the role of the heavens in this ancient society, from the whimsical to the scientific. Learn how the stars tell tales of the gods and how they were integral to the development of the Egyptians' most impressive feats of science, including the huge monuments that are the hallmark of Egyptian civilization.

Peer deep into space through the eyes of the orbiting Hubble Space Telescope and travel back billions of years in time to witness the birth of the universe. On this breathtaking excursion, you'll witness the formation of galaxies and explore some of the most wondrous nebulae and astronomical structures ever discovered. As your travels continue, you'll fly deep into our own Milky Way Galaxy and return home to Earth on a spectacular journey through the solar system.

Planet Hunters tells the story of discovering planets, from our first understanding of their place within the solar system to today's bold efforts to find planets around distant stars. Visitors will experience the wonders of exploration and the myriad of new discoveries – from Jupiter and icy worlds to Earth-like planets that may support life as we know it.
