Calvary Christian Academy
On Friday, April 5, the Science on Wheels team traveled to Lake Havasu City for STEM Day at Calvary Christian Academy. Arizona Science Center has provided new activities for Calvary Christian’s STEM Day each year for the past four years. This annual event celebrates STEM and engages students and caregivers as they rotate through various STEM-based activities. This year activities ranged from the science of bubbles to shelter building to chemistry.
During an activity about Arizona birds, one group of students were incredibly excited to learn about quail. They made their own quail hats and insisted on wearing these hats for the rest of the day.
After the event, the Science on Wheels team joined the school for lunch where they were recognized by students from the school. These students expressed excitement and shared with the other restaurant guests how they "did science" all day.
This annual event brings together the community in a fun hands-on day of science. Arizona Science Center looks forward to continuing to inspire, educate, and engage the curious minds of Calvary Christian Academy students in the future.
