Lone Mountain Elementary
Lone Mountain Elementary School, in Cave Creek Unified School District, is our featured school of the month. We just kicked off our three-year partnership with a STEM Extravaganza!
Over the course of three years, Arizona Science Center will be providing family science nights, assemblies, in-classroom events for kindergarten through sixth grade, professional development, and STEM implementation coaching sessions for teachers. We have enjoyed working with the staff and students and look forward to a great year! The partnership was made possible by the generous donations of Kiwanis of Carefree.
West Sedona School
Arizona Science Center has been working with West Sedona School since 2015 through a grant from APS. This partnership has allowed the science center to facilitate and support hands-on STEM learning experiences for both teachers and students. Last year, West Sedona became an accredited “STEM School” and this year they are working hard to get their new maker space off the ground and running. Arizona Science Center is proud to continue their support of this great school and all their STEM endeavors!
Little Red School House of Nogales
Did you know that we can bring the science to you? On Nov. 21, 2017, our Science on Wheels team headed to the Little Red School House of Nogales for a day of hands on activities. First graders had an out of this world experience designing and launching rockets while eighth-graders delved into the world of molecular gastronomy. All students and their families came together to explore the universe in our mobile planetarium.
