The Wood Shop
The Wood Shop is where guests will use various shop tools to cut, drill, bend, form objects, and otherwise fabricate their designs.
Primary Audience: 13+: Junior High, High School, College and Individual Adults
Resource Centers have two important functions. First, they are places where guests can come with their own projects in mind. You must sign up to be a CREATE Pass Holder to use the equipment. Guests can sign up for a monthly or annual pass.
Secondly, there will be staff led workshops ranging for beginner/safety, intermediate and advanced.
Because of the tools found here, the Resource Centers have particular operational considerations that differ from the Challenge Spaces. Entrance and use of the Resource Centers will be controlled and all guests must sign a waiver of liability.
Only guests 13 and older are allowed access to equipment in these areas. Anyone between the ages of 13–17 must be accompanied by an adult. All guests must take an introductory/safety class in order to sign up for intermediate or advanced workshops, and/or to use the equipment for individual projects.
Wood Shop Workshops
Workshops will provide in–depth instruction for more complex projects as well as the proper procedures for using the tools, technology and software in the space. All guests are required to take an introductory/safety class and sign a Waiver and Release of Liability prior to taking an intermediate or advanced class.
CREATE workshops will vary in price based on length, skill level and materials used. Students 13+ are allowed to use equipment in these areas once training has been completed. Anyone between the ages of 13–17 must be accompanied by an adult.
