CREATE Junior: 3D Printing 

Every third Saturday and first Sunday
Time: 1–3 p.m.
Ages: 8–12

Do you have a young maker? CREATE Junior introduces kids ages 8–12 to the world of technology and engineering. Kids will learn what 3D printing is and how to use the equipment as well as create a Tinkercad account and learn how to create and combine shapes to make their very own 3D object. 

Fee: $35

Arduino Meet Up Group

Third Saturday of every month
6:30–8 p.m.
FREE for all ages

Happening every third Saturday of the month, this meetup is for those curious about microcontroller technology and Arduino enthusiasts to discuss the latest and greatest in the world of Arduino. Take our CREATEduino workshop and attend our monthly meetup event to make new friends! 


First Fridays: Open Studio

5:30–7:30 p.m.
FREE for all ages

Join CREATE at Arizona Science Center® for our First Friday: Open Studio events.  Each month features a new theme with hands-on activities that may introduce you to state-of-the-art equipment or traditional crafting tools and materials. Previous making activities have included an etched wine glass, laser carved pumpkin, mini light saber, and personalized gifts for a friend or loved one.

Explore mechanical and electrical engineering, programming and design. You’ll solder a blinking badge, learn how to code a video game, create a color-tracking model car and examine CAD design methods used for 3D printing and laser cutting. Each hands-on activity encourages imagination and will help develop skills needed for careers in technology, design and fabrication.

CREATE Masters

Ages 13–16 | 9 a.m.–4 p.m.
July 30–Aug. 3, 2018

Immerse yourself in the maker-mindset and learn about design and production. Use woodworking tools to make a shelf, the Electronics Zone to laser cut and design a pendulum clock, and learn to use CAD design methods for 3D printing. Work with experts to develop ideas and determine the best tools to complete your own master projects. You’ll receive equipment use, safety and protocol training. At the end of the week, you will be eligible to become a CREATE pass holder so you can continue your innovative work in the CREATE Resource Centers.
