The Arizona Science Center Institute for Teaching is dedicated to providing high quality professional development programs to teachers throughout Arizona.  Energize your staff with exciting programs that support inquiry pedagogy and standards-based teaching and learning.

Institute programming can be customized to meet your specific needs, for an in-service or conference, or select one of our existing programs described on this page. Programs can be delivered at your location or at the Center.

Arizona bioengineering CURRICULUM (ABC)

Recommended for grades 6, 7 and 8 Educators                   

Each of the following ABC units comes with: teacher manual; curriculum CD; teacher training DVDs and a guest speaker DVD. A site license for one school is $195 per unit. Development of The Arizona Bioengineering Curriculum (ABC) was funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute.

explorations 

Recommended for grades K-12 Educators                   

Explorations are intensive, 4-hour workshops that focus on one topic - exploration concepts and phenomena through hands-on activities and investigations. Lesson ideas and instructional techniques are addressed. Participants earn 4 hours of professional development.  These workshops require a minimum of 12 participants.
