SPRING DAY CAMP Feb. 20
Explore the fascinating world of sweet treats at the Sweet Science of Candy camp! It's food, it's fun, it's SCIENCE! Chemistry takes center stage this winter as campers make ice cream with liquid nitrogen and discover how much energy is stored in a gummy bear through an explosive demonstration! Candy making is not only fun but a fascinating and precise science that campers will experience through transforming matter from one state to another, creating chemical interactions, and exploring the pH of various solutions. And the result? Science experiments that are DELICIOUS!

My name is Soilo Felix, and I am the Director of Programs at Arizona Science Center. I am an Arizona native, and attended Arizona State University where I earned a bachelor's degree in Physics. Prior to the Science Center, I spent 12 years with a local youth and teen development organization where I led the development of education and technology programs of which many were focused on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
I am thrilled to be part of developing a new and innovative camp program with engaging curriculum, unique experiences and deeper explorations of scientific processes and content.
I look forward to seeing you at our newly designed and themed camps which will be held during fall, winter and spring breaks, and throughout the summer.
