~Thanks for Joining Us~
Last year approximately 500 educators attended the 2008 APS Back to School Resource Fair and Reception at Arizona Science Center. Educators visited 58 exhibitors and received a variety of free teaching resources, explored two exciting new galleries - Forces of Nature, located in the Sybil B. Harrington Galleries, and My Digital World - and experienced a sampling of amazing shows in our recently renovated Dorrance Planetarium. Educators were also offered 18 different professional development sessions on a variety of subjects in language arts, math, geography and science!
Last year, session highlights included a presentation by Arizona State Attorney General Terry Goddard on internet safety, Denise D. Resnik, co-founder of the Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) and Holly D. Sokol, spoke about building social connectivity in our schools, and Arizona's award-winning children's author Conrad J. Storad presented a session on making non-fiction fun for young readers!
Educators also enjoyed a delicious dinner and received a FREE educator membership, compliments of APS.
